LA's Old Pacific Electric Color Photos
Here are some awesome photos of LA's old mass transit system. In color! What's fascinating is how even back then everything looked kind of old and broken in. I find this to be the norm with most everything from the pre-plastic era. In an age (pre-1955, let's say) when so much was still made from metal and wood things looked so much more "mature." Nowawadays, with everything made from plastic, things either look brand-new or stylistically dated (We already laugh at those colored Macs from 1997). There's no middle ground.
