Slither up to Sharon Stone

When we went to see Slither (I liked it) on friday night at the Arclight and the theatre was relatively empty I knew it would be a bomb. People in LA see everything. If the theatre is empty in LA on a friday then the theatres are empty everywhere.

What I did not see, and could not guage that incredible floppitude of, was Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction. I can only imagine that subtitle will come back to haunt them as they they think about how much money they sunk into a movie nobody wanted, 10 years after anybody was even thinking about wanting it. Sharon Stone should get the Risk Addiction producers together with the dolts that made Catwoman.

Slither (projected based on Friday gross): $3.8 million
Basic Instinct 2 (projected based on Friday gross): $3.3 million

PS- Slither was probably really cheap, not so for Risk Addiction.
