25 Years of "Eh..."!!!

NASA celebrates the 25th anniversary of the currently (always?) grounded Space Shuttle. When I was a wee boy, I remember thinking the Space Shuttle was the shizznit. Then I hated it for a long time. Then I decided to respect the rather amazing engineering of this white elephant, without respecting its mission. You could say, I support the shuttle, but I don't support its "war" on low-Earth orbit!

Anyway, here's to an amazing 25 Years of Eh...

(The Hubble repair stuff was neat, though. I'll give it that.)

I figure the Shuttle as we know it is grounded permanently, since they're in the process of that massive bidding war/redesign thing. I haven't been following it but I remember all the initial submissions seeming pretty awesome.

As the far as the "eh" goes, I figure the shuttle was kinda useless (like the space program in general!) but a necessary step forward from stuffing a dude into a cannonball and launching him into space.

Someday... shuttles to Mars.
