Bad for my country
Does anyone else kind of wish they had confirmed Miers just so that we wouldn't have to hear any more crap about the Supreme Court? I mean, how much damage can one Justice do, anyway? You really only hear about 4 or 5 of them most of the time anyway.

I find that I hear the least about Breyer. He's made some statements recently, but before this year you always seemed to hear the most about Rehnquist (he's old!), Scalia (he's crazy!), and O'Connor (he's a she!). Everyone else was practically non-existent.
I wish they had confirmed Miers 'cause this new justice-to-be is even scarier (visually and politically). He looks like angry axe murderer (as oppossed to the calm ones).
It won't be boring when we start getting nazi-esque rulings from the star chamber. Remember this is the court that picked your current president back in 2000.
One thing that's fun about this new guy is what an insane activist judge he is. Oh yeah, you legislate from the bench you little conservative you, we love it, we love HEY, YO LIBERAL, BACK OFF FROM THAT JUDICIAL ACTIVISM! Ahh, that's better, isn't that right my conservative darling? Can you say "Affirmative Action is unconstitutional"? Can you? Yes, that's right...
I would do my hypocrite dance, but I'm too tired of it these days.
This country needs to end the debate over "judicial activism" -- like now. It's gotten to the point where anytime a judge declares anything unconstitutional, he's accused of conjuring rights out of thin air.
For my money, there's nothing activist about ruling affirmative action unconstitutional, just as there's nothing activist about ruling gay marriage legal.
Agreed. I think "Judicial Activism" as a concept is kind of silly. I mean, what's the point of an independent judiciary if they can't rule certain laws unconstitutional?
I'm angry with Bush because I think he purposely chose a stupid worthless woman, knowing she would never make it on, just so he could say "hey, I tried to get a woman on there, but you didn't like her!"
They need another woman on there.
