Trekking
I've been watching a lot of Star Trek: TNG lately (it's on every afternoon). I'm struck by how bad the bad episodes are. In my mind's eye, TNG eps always look really crisp, with great effects. But when you see some of the first and second season ones again, you're struck by the hokiness of it all. Which is really strange considering that at the time (circa 1990) we all remarked upon how "realistic" the show was compared to the "corny" original series. In short, all Star Trek series are cornball to some degree.
Of course, the Meyer Films remain awesome to the awesometh degree.

Did I mention I saw Wrath of Kahn at the Aero this weekend? That movie's great.
But boy, do I hate televised Star Trek. Yes, all of it.
I should add that I've also been watching a lot of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. I never embraced that show like I should have. It's mah-va-lous.
Right now Qpid's on. It's one with "Vash."
Feh.
The previous ep, however, was Nth Power, where Barclay becomes all HAL-like and takes over the ship. It had some lame-o stuff with Troi and Crusher, but it all the tech stuff was cool. I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't remembered any Barclay eps being very good, but this one was.
The show, like many shows, doesn't really take off until season 3.
Oh man, can you imagine if Battlestar doesn't take off until season 3? I might wet myself.
