Bobzilla
The runoff already happened, and as of this writing he's behind Hahn for the opportunity to get trounced by Villaraigosa in the election, but it's still worth checking out the commercials that gave Bob Hertzberg the best political nickname of my lifetime: "Bobzilla."
Man I hope he makes the election.

Yeah, it's just an AMAZING ad campaign. Especially for the rather thankless job of Los Angeles mayor.
Oh, and as a citizen of WeHo, I was not able to cast a vote in that crazy election. I was busy casting a largely Green ticket for city councilmen.
Well, final results are in and Hahn, who I doubt can slime Villaraigosa to victory yet again, beat out Bobzilla, who I think had a legitimate chance at moving up. Alas. Politics in LA go back to boring same ol' same ol'.
You know, Hahn's "walking" ad was pretty good (in a bad sorta way), too. It was just him walking authoritatively down a sidewalk, and as he did so, all these little minority kids (seriously) fell in behind him, ala Life Aquatic.
I'm sure what Alex MEANT to say was "a la Buckaroo Banzai," which Life Aquatic totally ripped off for that credits sequence. Unless of course Life Aquatic had some sort of ethnic children bit that I am forgetting. It's been awhile since I saw it.
I actually deleted a "Buckaroo Banzai" reference from my comment right before posting!
I do so, only because Banzai didn't have children walking alongside him, whereas the Aquatic ending had that little blond kid.
