If for no other reason than that the narrative begs for a last minute twist ending in issue #7 (one name off my previous list, equally hard to swallow, does spring to mind), I don't think it's him.

I'm thinking it's him. I bet the last chapter is the heroes confronting him when he goes gunning for Lois. Was he working with Dr. Light?
That Batman revelation was awesome. This series wins.
What's the motive? Love? Seems like waaaaaaaaaaay too much trouble to go to, and frankly to do something like that you'd have to be a psychopath to begin with. If it is him then there is some serious 'splainin' to do.
