Well, here it is, our first good look atChristian Bale as Batman. Color me unimpressed. It's like a busier version of the suit from Batman Returns (Alex's favorite). The only improvement I can see is the all black batsymbol. Otherwise, meh.

Yes, I never thought I'd say this, but next to this new suit, the 'Returns' suit looks streamlined and downright agile.
I'm very saddened by this suit. The cowl looks like it's bolted on, and the cape looks like it's made from a towel. The belt is good, as it actually looks functional, but everything else reeks of 'Batman and Robin.'
I really hoped that since this film was going to be a sort of Batman: Year One dealie, that the suit would have a more raw, almost anti-technological look.
It will probably look better with mood lighting. That looks like bad lighting more than mediocre costume design. It's not new, but it's a character America is familiar with, so they probably didn't want to shake things up too much.
