Politicize this, bitch!
Well, it seems that Bush's use of the Olympics in campaign ads has angered the IOC enough that they almost certainly won't choose New York in 2012.
Frankly I think that's fine, because lord knows that there's no way New York City can handle the construction and traffic that's associated with the games. Has Bush ever done anything that hasn't just pissed off the rest of the world? War in Afghanistan is the only thing I can think of.

Yeah, I heard about this on NPR this morning. The Bushies are citing that those claims made by the ads are factual and therefore should be allowed to stay on the air. Um... they are? Really?
Yes, New York would have quite a time managing to host the games, but at the same time they were a sentimental choice because of 9/11. It's all irrelevant, though, because Paris has emerged so far as the favorite.
Oh, and a ginormous portion of IOC funds are derived from American television. So we've got a lot of pull. Still, Paris in the lead. London in second.
